Established in 1996, Moon Kkang Foreign Language Academy started out as a one school operation and has grown into a corporation that includes approximately 500 personnel (143 foreign workers), 19 school locations and 13,000 students. Mr. Moon (the owner and CEO) has aggressively expanded in Daegu over the years to become the largest English speaking ‘hakgwon’ (academy) in the city.

The company has since opened Moon Kkang academies in Bundang, Busan, Pohang and Ulsan. The company has gained an excellent reputation among Korean parents and among foreign ESL teachers. The current re-signing rate of foreign ESL teachers is over 70%.  The company is continuing to expand in Korea and is diversifying into other business ventures.

The Reinforcement Team

Moon Kkang has a dedicated team of Korean professionals that handle all foreign affairs. From housing issues, to immigration processes, to hospital visits, etc. The reinforcement team will ensure that your transition to Korea will be a smooth one and your life working with Moon Kkang will be a comfortable one.

Foreign Management

Nakia Myers (Training & Curriculum Development)

Nakia holds a Master’s degree in Education for Curriculum Design and Instruction. She is responsible for training all new teachers, conducting teaching evaluations, offering feedback and suggestions on ESL instruction. Nakia has over seven years of teaching experience, including three with Moon Kkang.

Lynn Harper (Policy & Personnel Manager)

Lynn has the demanding task of hiring all foreign personnel for Moon Kkang. She is in charge of policies, contract negotiations and aids in our teacher’s adjustment to life in Daegu. She provides ongoing support throughout your contract year.

Chris Hebb
(Manager of Foreign Personnel)

Chris schedules vacations and manages the team of substitute teachers responsible for covering vacationing and absent teachers. He’s also responsible for organizing company events, housing issues and the general needs of the teacher populace.
